SiliconSystems Names Bell Microproducts
as its New Distribution Partner
Bell Microproducts
to Offer Industrial-Grade Solid-State Storage Technology
to OEMs
March 16,
2005— SiliconSystems, Inc. announced today
the signing of an agreement with Bell Microproducts (Nasdaq:BELM)
to distribute its industrial-grade solid-state storage solutions
developed exclusively for the enterprise system OEM market.
The agreement extends through all of North America.
SiliconSystems' industry-leading
SiliconDrive™ products are non-volatile solid-state
storage solutions designed specifically for the high performance
operating environments of enterprise system OEM applications.
SiliconDrives are ideal for systems in which high availability,
multi-year product lifecycles, embedded operating system
compatibility, small mechanical footprint, and low power
consumption are the key design metrics. They incorporate
proprietary and application-specific technologies to ensure
data integrity and storage system availability.
Bell Microproducts will
support the line with its Storage Device Value Add Programs
that offer specific help in design/engineering, project
management, consignment, manufacturing/integration and end-of-life
management. The Programs offer services that include operating
systems loading, device testing, software duplication, asset
tagging, bar-coding, kitting and custom labeling.
"As one of the premier
distributors of storage products, Bell Microproducts will
be a very effective partner for SiliconSystems selling our
leading edge industrial-grade solid-state storage technology,"
said Michael Hajeck CEO at SiliconSystems. "This agreement
is another important step in continuing our strategic direction
to expand our sales organization in North America. Like
SiliconSystems, Bell Microproducts is uniquely positioned
in the enterprise system OEM market with substantial solid-state
storage experience, making them a true asset in representing
our products."
"We believe SiliconSystems
technologies and solutions will strongly benefit our customers,"
stated George Papajohn, Sr. Vice President of Marketing
for Bell Microproducts. "The SiliconSystems product
portfolio and its focus on solid-state storage align extremely
well within our overall strategy of representing the best-in-class
storage product suppliers. The addition of SiliconSystems
allows us to offer industry-leading solid-state storage
solutions that are a key building block required to complete
the total system level needs of our customers."
