Bit-Flip Errors
Data that is not refreshed is subject to a phenomenon known
as
bit-flip, changing a 1 to a 0, which results in corrupted
data. If bits flip that cannot be corrected by ECC, fatal
errors can occur.
SiliconSystems wear-leveling algorithm periodically refreshes
all data, ensuring the highest level of data integrity.
Flash cards that do not refresh static data and have minimal
ECC capabilities are subject to much higher failure rates.
